Ngaio Richards Moxa Treatment

Because Traditional Chinese Medicine’s (TCM) emphasis is on prevention and the maintenance of long-term health, this modality has so very much to offer each and every person.

Including women before, during and after pregnancy. Pregnant women may seek out treatment for both preventive and remedial purposes.

According to Chinese classics, a good acupuncture treatment feels “like the sun coming out from behind the clouds”.

Now no longer commuting to her Sydney clinic – the iconic and thriving House of Fertility & Healing in Petersham – which she established in 2009, however she continues to run HOFH remotely.

Meanwhile, the boutique oasis-like Healing Room (Taree) is the welcome result of her tree-change from the 24/7 intensity of inner-west Sydney. Ngaio now runs Breathe Acupuncture from this location.

Even prior to being bequeathed Sydney’s very first pregnancy acupuncture practice in 2002 from the legendary Paddy McBride when Paddy decided to return to her homeland, Ngaio has eagerly developed her special interest in various aspects of women’s health treatment. Having long ago gained the reputation as the ‘go-to pregnancy acupuncturist’ in Sydney, there are also many children now on this planet after Ngaio helped their parents as they were trying to conceive.

Other areas of special interest areas of treatment include menstrual pain and menopausal transition. Relocating to the Mid North Coast has presented her with an opportunity to support the local community by delving deep into the traditions of Chinese medicine as the culture and demographics here often means treating pain plus tangling with more general, complex and chronic health issues. She regularly updates her skills & knowledge via industry seminars both in Australia and abroad. Time outside of the clinic is often devoted to playing in the garden, creating food as medicine, practicing yoga and meditation.
